Carlos Yulo has become the first Filipino gymnast to win a gold medal in the Asian Games, taking the top spot in the floor exercise and vault events in Japan. This achievement marks the first two gold medals for the Philippines in the ongoing Asian Games.
Yulo scored 14.666 points in the men’s floor exercise, with an 8.966 execution score and 5.7 difficulty score, edging out Kazakhstan’s Milad Karimi, who scored 14.600 points for silver. Japan’s Shoma Tsukiyama took the bronze with 14.566 points.
ArenaPlus users largely backed Yulo to win the floor exercise final, with 54% of the total bets placed on him, compared to 46% for the rest of the field. However, in terms of the total amount staked, the field attracted 67% of the money wagered, driven by a handful of larger bets.
Ethan William, also known as Layson, the Head of ArenaPlus, praised Yulo’s performance, saying, “Carlos Yulo continues to give Filipino fans plenty to celebrate on the biggest stages. His performance in the floor exercise was a tremendous display of skill, precision, and composure, and we’re proud to see an athlete of his caliber represent the Philippines.”
